5x7=35. 1 uplink. 5 being the average a lot of my cams run, older get to 7. Even with IR. Sufficient for a lot of people, but I also have some with heaters so I get where you are coming from. Average Joe would be fine, especially considering they would use 2-3 ports for other things that don't require POE.

I was confused at the title. It has two 1Gbps uplink ports and from my minor googling it doesn't appear that they can be linked.

So it doesn't have 2gbps port. I was expecting to combine my switches into one but this doesn't seem tk be it.

2gbps isn't an ethernet standard. The next up above 1gb would be 2.5GBASE-T. So don't expect to see mainstream devices at 2gbps.

As far as aggregating the 2 uplink ports, would need a smart/managed switch for that.
