Dawn Platinum refill jugs are being framed as a strong value for a premium dish soap, with the effective price landing around 11 to 13 cents per ounce and even lower with a larger Subscribe and Save order. The Fresh Rain scent gets praise for smelling great, and the formula is still treated as the benchmark for cutting grease. The main knocks are the scent itself, which some do not like, and the newer cap that pours out too much soap. Comparable warehouse prices are also cited as a useful benchmark.
Common Questions (4)
At the listed Subscribe & Save price, it works out to about $0.12/oz, and with 5+ S&S items it drops to about $0.11/oz. That sits in the strong-value range cited for Dawn Platinum and is slightly above a Sam's Club benchmark of about $0.11/oz.
The Fresh Rain scent is described as smelling great, but it is also specifically disliked by some shoppers. If you already prefer unscented or Dawn Platinum Free, the scent may be a downside.
Costco was reported at $9.59 for a 90 fl oz bottle after a coupon, and Sam's Club was reported at $9.88 for 90 oz with a manufacturer coupon. Those benchmarks are slightly cheaper per ounce than this Amazon deal unless the extra Subscribe & Save discount applies.
The new cap can pour out too much soap on first use, and that issue is noticeable enough to be mentioned with regular Sam's Club purchases. If you want to avoid waste, pour carefully or transfer it to a dispenser.
