Be careful of the overheating problem. No solution yet. Mine gets boiling hot after a few minutes. I really regret buying it.

I bought one from the last deal. Came in a sealed box, connected to the DJi Mimo app and updated the firmware without issues. Made a bunch of videos, some up to 30 minutes with no issues of overheating. Works great for me. Very happy with the video quality.

Apologies for not being up to speed on this situation, but I thought there was an issue with it being available for purchase in the U.S. Or does the announcement of a global launch mean the pocket 4 and 4 pro will be released in America too?
DJI cannot sell the Pocket 4 Pro under its own brand in the US due to FCC restrictions.
It is re‑branded as Xtra Muse 2 Pro for the US market, with exactly the same hardware as the global DJI Pocket 4 Pro.

Pre‑orders will start around late May, and official sales launch in June‑July.
Authorized US retailers include Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy, with official local warranty.

This new launch will push DJI Pocket 3 prices much lower in the coming weeks.

Binding for handheld cameras such as the Pocket have no functional impact. Full app control, updates, etc. are still available.

Binding is only important for their drone products so that you have authority over getting new controllers, flyaway reports, etc.

That's incorrect for DJI Pocket series cameras.
Unlike drones, the Pocket 3 / 4 series are fully tied to the DJI Mimo account for firmware updates, video editing, smart modes, cloud sync, and feature unlocking.
If locked to another user's account, you cannot perform critical updates, use full editing tools, or access official feature support—basic recording works, but core functions are permanently restricted.
Drones have stricter binding rules for flight safety, but Pocket cameras still require personal account binding for complete functionality.

Just want to clarify a few important points for everyone considering this listing:1. DJI Pocket 3 relies on the official DJI Mimo app for firmware updates, video editing, smart shooting modes, and account binding. If the unit is pre‑activated and locked to another user's DJI account, you will NOT be able to bind your own account, use the full editing features, or update the camera normally. Basic recording may work, but core app functions are restricted.2. Units sold via this AliExpress US‑warehouse seller are parallel‑import gray‑market devices. They do NOT come with official 1‑year DJI USA manufacturer warranty, only the 90‑day AliExpress return window. DJI US will not honor warranty service for these units.3. Pre‑activated, account‑locked devices are a known risk from this seller. For reference, this store previously ran deals around $337, now at $327. With the launch of Pocket 4 Pro and Luna Alchu 2, prices are expected to drop further, so there is no rush to purchase right now.
Thank you for the clarification

That's simply not true. I can give you two sources:

Source 1: I have a Osmo Pocket 3 that's bound to another account. I have full access to firmware updates, app video editor, etc.

Source 2: DJI themselves:
https://repair.dji.com/help/conte...pe=ARTICLE

1. Scenario 1: The device is already bound to another DJI account
Cause: Each DJI device can only be bound to one DJI account, and the current device is already bound to another account.

What to Do: The current binding is for display purposes only and will not affect your normal use of the device or your after-sales service benefits.

They have 90 days return window, but they don't have one year manufacturer warranty?
Policies on aliexpress may differ from official channels. I've seen plenty of related posts from aliexpress. I prefer buying via the brand official site or Amazon for better reliability.

I have pocket 3, bought from Amazon.brand new.

Thank you for sharing your experience, but there are a few important clarifications based on how DJI handles account binding for Pocket cameras:

1. The official DJI statement you referenced ("binding is for display purposes only") means basic recording works normally, but it does NOT mean core functions are unaffected. Full firmware updates, cloud sync, advanced editing tools, and DJI Care activation are all tied to the bound account. Your personal experience may work due to specific firmware versions or regional differences, but this is not guaranteed for all users.

2. For after-sales service, DJI US typically requires proof of purchase and a device bound to your own account to honor warranty claims. If the device is permanently locked to another user's account, you may not be able to get official repair support, even if you have a receipt from AliExpress.

3. With the Pocket 4 Pro and Luna Alchu 2 launching soon, prices for new, unbound Pocket 3 units will likely drop further. Waiting for a clean, brand-new unit with no account issues is the most reliable way to ensure full functionality and peace of mind for travel use.

I bought an OSMO 360 from the same seller 2 weeks ago, still no shipment and seller kept telling me to wait. Are people able to get the pocket 3 shipped from them?

Sounds like you do not have firsthand experience if you bought yours brand new.

I am giving you first hand direct experience as somebody who got a Pocket 3 that was already bound to a different account. I also gave you a direct citation straight from the manufacturer. What is the source for what you are saying?

I have a hunch that you may be confusing activation and binding. The things you are saying are true for device activation. For full functionality, you need to activate the device. If you buy a brand new device, you need to activate it. Activating the device requires an account to bind to it. However, after the device is activated, you do not need to be using the bound account for full functionality. Any account that's connected to the Pocket will have the full Pocket functionality after the activation.

I saw this with my old GoPro3 way back and I have avoided these small form factors since then. But I now have a need. I had hoped they would have cracked the code on heating problems by now. Have you found any that are not problematic with heat?

I fully understand your distinction between activation and binding, but let's clarify the critical difference for everyone considering this AliExpress listing:

1. For a brand‑new unactivated unit, the buyer activates and binds it to their own DJI account — that is the normal process we all agree on.
2. The risk here is **permanent pre‑binding to a stranger's account with no option to unbind**, which is a widely reported issue for this specific seller. Your personal experience of full functionality is an exception, not the rule. Many users report firmware update failures, Mimo feature restrictions, and lost warranty eligibility with pre‑bound units.
3. Regarding DJI US warranty: official after‑sales service requires the device to be bound to the claimant's own account, along with a valid authorized‑dealer purchase receipt. AliExpress gray‑market units do not qualify for US official warranty, regardless of binding status.

Given the upcoming launch of Pocket 4 Pro and Luna Alchu 2, prices for truly brand‑new, unbound Pocket 3 units will continue to fall. There is no need to take unnecessary binding risks for a small temporary discount.
