This propane blow torch stands out as a strong fire starter for fire pits, BBQs, bonfires, smokers, and burn barrels, with a very strong flame that also works for sous vide and crème brûlée. The build feels solid and the grip is comfortable, and the coupon code has repeatedly brought the price down when it applies. The main caveats are reliability and usability, since the igniter can be fickle, some units have failed or arrived as used returns, and the flame can be too big, wasteful, or awkward for indoor kitchen use. It seems best suited to outdoor jobs and quick ignition tasks.

I'm not sure what's going on for some people, but the code is still working fine for me.

Funny, but most of the people who make this comment don't make crème brûlée from scratch. I make it often and this torch isn't as good for the task as basic torches you can find in the hardware department. And using a tall thin propane cylinder instead of the camping style. Plus with those they double for sweating pipe joints. They fit in the kitchen cabinet much easier, for me anyway.
This torch is not at all good for normal indoor kitchen use. This torch and others like it are far too powerful and waste a lot of fuel. The flame is just way too big and hot. It's much bigger (and much more wasteful) than something more like a Bernzomatic TS8000, which is much more appropriate for indoor kitchen use.

How long would a tank last
Not long. These torches are extremely wasteful. They're good for some outdoor uses, though.

Look like it might be suitable for crowd control. Let me check the return policy.

Can't fool me, these are probably just The Boring Company flamethrowers with a ThermoMaven logo slapped on.
