ok. i accept that.can u or anyone else clarify?so i can sign up in spose name , even when i have current service in my name?or do i need to cancel first?so if i cancel today, in my past expierence, the service will not turn off immediately.it takes about 5-7 days to full disconnectcan i sign up with spose info tomorrow? even though my service is in "limbo " added confusion is i have a mobile line i do not want to loose either
Don't shut off your current service. First sign up new service with another person's info (+casback) first. During tje checkout you will select the self install date. That is the date when the old service will be disconnected and new service will be ready to be activated. The modem for the new service will be delivered before the install date. Xfinity will automatically send you an email about cancelation for the current service. The old service will disconnect early morning on the day if "self-install" date. Do not connect the new modem before that (to avoid issues). At the morning of the entire activation process is driven via the app. In this entire process I haven't talked to customer for anything.

Are there any monthly fees on top of the $40? If so do they very by region? I'm paying $60 per month on Ziply with no extra fees.
Are you in OR? If yes, then no you don't pay anything additional. Make sure you sign up for the 5 year price lock guarantee price. There are two prices. 1 year and 5 year price lock guarantee price.

the internet "fee" is from your state. Some states have broadband tax exempt while some don't. You will pay fee on the free mobile line. For me (MI) is about $1.80 per month.
Sorry I quoted wrong message.

5 year lock still there
$60 deal is only for 1 year after that $100. If you want 5 year price lock its $70 per month.

Thank you - yes I am in OR.

Does anyone know - Are we sure that ordering the lock in price ($45 for the 300Mbps) gets us the gift card and the year of mobile service? Looking at the comcast page, the $40 price and the gift card offer is in a colored box and the $45 5 year price is below it in a different box. I just want to be sure, because this is Comcast we are talking about!

You don't have to go through scheduling an install date.

1. Sign up as new customer.

2. Wait for package to arrive.

3. While waiting, call or schedule online to cancel service. Schedule this preferably on the day the package arrives. Even if you say cancel today, the service will not cancel today. That's my experience with Xfinity. Last several times that I've canceled service, three days later, it's still up.

4. Call customer service and tell them to remove the old modem and register the new one.

this my understanding.
am i wrong?

call comcast, tell them you want to cancel, when they transfer you to the cancellation department (retentions) ask for this deal - they will give it to you and you don't have to cancel or use someone else's info or be a new customer or whatever. The regular customer service agents can't - only retentions can.

Comcast being greedy once again, the 5 year lock for 1gig was literally $50 a month, they realized the price was too good and not even three weeks later they upped the price to $70... They wonder why their stock is tanking.

Now that they added the gift card its stomach able for the $70 at least the first year.

Not sure if the old $50/5 year lock plan included the Disney+Hulu offer, so this does add some value. I plan to call retentions to see what deal they'll give me once my current promo ends next month. I currently pay $35 for 300Mbps.

When I signed up in Nov 2025, 1gig/$50 5 year lock, that offer included 2 years of Peacock w/ads.

I've never signed up under my real name (always used a pet's name) and whenever there's an issue with cancellation, I just add a random "Suite A" to my home address and that's worked.

I use a pet's name because I don't trust Xfinity after identity thefts.

Tried as a new customer and it's charging $15 for shipping with no store pickup option. Is there a way to get around that? Also is there a way to get this with a new email and then merge with old account ?
