There are a lot of 1 star reviews. It seems to have a regular problem of shutting off while recording, and after a few months it won't turn on anymore. Not worth the risk.

Never had that issue from the x3-x5. If it only takes a few months for that to happen, I'm assuming it's returnable?

Bought one and used it for a while but it's sort of too niche to be a thing most people need. Working with the footage is a bit of a time sync and viewing in 360 means getting potential viewers into a VR headset. I think these will take off more when folks are using AR glasses more as being able to view 360 video with something a lot more people will have should help.

You can use a camera like this to reframe 16x9 shots from anywhere on the 360 sphere but at that point the 8K resolution is more like 1080p as far as overall quality of what you are getting looks. It's not the worst but it's likely best saved as sort of a b-roll capture all in case anything interesting is missing off the much better main camera you hopefully have.

Commenting on pricing alone this is a great deal. I got my Insta x5 last summer from some Slickdeals DELL deal for like $320 camera only. (1 battery included) I later on got the same selfie stick $90 and the same rubber lenscap for like $10.

I bought this camera last summer from Costco for family vacations. It's cool that you don't have to worry about where the camera is facing and when editing you can make it appear like you are turning the camera. I edit the videos to 16:9. The drawback is editing takes some time to frame the angle you want.

This is exactly what we are aiming to use it for. How time consuming is the process? And how does it look after editing?
