Considering the pace of layoffs in the high tech, where this kind of laptops are mostly sold, I wouldn't be surprised to see better deals. Their target market practically evaporates AND there going to be hundreds of thousands off corporate lease (aka refurb) machines hitting the market as well.

I don't know where your data is from but college students make up the biggest demographic for Macbook Airs. That's their biggest target market for the Air.
