This Milwaukee M4 hex screwdriver is a light duty power screwdriver that stands out for reliable long term use, solid batteries, and a clutch that works well for automotive, household, light construction, aerospace, and electronics work. The tool is described as practical in hand, with two speeds and more torque and rpm than expected, and the included Milwaukee bits get strong praise. The main knocks are the high price, the aging M4 platform, and the lack of LEDs. It is a capable specialty driver, but the value depends on how much you need this format.

  • Buyers who prefer a gyroscopic screwdriver with strong hand feel, because the gyroscopic control is intuitive and the tool delivers more torque than expected.

  • Electronics and aerospace technicians repeatedly removing and replacing screws, because it has enough torque for constant screw work and avoids wrist twisting.

  • Homeowners and light-construction users needing a compact power screwdriver, because the clutch works well and it stays practical for automotive, household, and light-duty tasks.

  • People who want a long-lasting 4V screwdriver for everyday light-duty jobs, because it still works reliably after many years and the batteries remain solid.

  • Shoppers comparing against cheaper 4V screwdrivers, because this platform is seen as overpriced for the performance it delivers.

  • Users who want built-in task lighting, because this tool lacks LEDs.

  • Tradespeople needing a drill driver, because this is a light-duty screwdriver and will not replace a drill driver.

  • Buyers expecting the latest battery platform, because the M4 line is viewed as a dead platform with older cells and little development.

fellas, the Dewalt GYROSCOPE GOT DISCONTINUED. As good as it was idk why dewalt chose to can it. The newest one does not have the gyroscope function nor does it have a trigger. I watched some reviews on these and the best screwdriver with the most torque was a makita one that's pretty expensive. The Milwaukee was second and the gyroscope dewalt was third(irrelevant here since it's no longer for sale lol). The Milwaukee is good, just lacks LEDs.
This is wild to me. I have the non-pivoting version and it's a hit with everyone I show it to. I love mine. Does Dewalt own the patent on the gyroscopic function of the device? Why has no one else made one? I'd probably (have to) sell organs to buy a Milwaukee gyroscopic screwdriver akin to the Dewalt

Crazy how much they sell this thing for considering "m4" is a dead platform that sees no development. The cells in that battery are ancient considering the m12 and m18 platforms. The tool itself works alright but you can easily do better for fractions of the price even on this pretty big discount.

I was in the market for a light duty screwdriver, but this seems kinda spendy for what it is. Any opinions on this vs the light ryobi stuff?

I used this at my two previous jobs. One as an aerospace technician and another as electronics technician, constantly removing and replacing screws. At my current job, I don't but if I did, I would create a requisition for this tool as it has been a great product for me. I have tried a craftsman brand and had learn to let go or my wrist would twist.
