You want your basic washer dryer set that will last 10 years easy, cheap to fix this is the deal with the Ropers. I didn't even know they still made it.
Not the biggest tub, but hey take your big quilts to a laundromat... Everything else just gets it clean. No bells no whistles just a 50 year of reliability standard. AND hey I'm buying a Maytag set because my wife wants it from Costco here at 26 Memorial day.
My dad and mom bought a set for like 300 bucks back in like 1990. It lasted till they left for the nursing home in 2009. The washer got fixed once. I was there and the guy who fixed it said, he loved the old school units, all mechanical and bulletproof mechanicals. He had to replace the transmission, cost like a hundred bucks.
So, I got mine just like it for like 400 bucks installed in 2000 in a house I bought. I sold the house in 2008 and they were going strong. My now wife got hers in like 2004 about 500 bucks installed. They were still going strong in 2012 when she moved with me to Montana.
And now both are breaking so, forced to buy and she wants a few bells and whistles. Costco has a set of Maytags with the 4.8 tub for 1000 installed. I am fearful. It it ain't broke don't fix it. I can still cancel and am considering doing it for the deal...
I can still cancel. But I'm looking at an actual few bucks more for units with fewer features AKA bells and whistles. I'll take the chance to keep my wife happy, but if the new units give me any trouble, I'll suffer with the Ropers...if I can still find them.

So the house here came with a deluxe expensive Washer dryer set with all the bells and whistle which broke within a year. We got this set for like 600 bucks installed in 2013. In fact, I believe this is the slickdeals post that led me to Lowes. https://slickdeals.net/e/6241026-roper-washer-dryer-lowes-299-ea-or-less-free-delivery?v=1&sr
