Apparently, they've had these discounts available for a long time but don't advertise it. They prefer you pay full-fare. I'm only 61 so I didn't think that qualified as senior, but according to Sam's it does, 50+. 50 is the new 65 😂 In addition to a senior discount they offer military, teacher, student, healthcare professional, govt assistance recipient, first responder, and government employee discounts. So literally 90% of the population. These are discounts for the first year only, but I think you can get around it using a different email address and creating a new account when it's time to re-up. I alternate our membership one year it's me, the next year I sign up my wife so that we keep the discount rolling. It creates the 6 month gap in membership so there's never been an issue.
I already re-upped as a "senior" for a $60 plus membership. Rats! I thought I did good, but I guess I paid $5 too much.

People jumping on these discounted memberships just means there's less reason for them to offer real deals.
