Geez... who's paying this much for a desktop these days?

This Legion Tower 7i Gen 10 is a high end prebuilt that stands out for its RTX 5090, 64GB of DDR5, and 2TB SSD, especially for AI, local inference, and heavy gaming. The fixed configuration is seen as stronger value than comparable HP Omen 45L builds because it bundles more memory and storage for similar money. It also gets praise for solid assembly, quiet operation, cool running, and minimal bloatware. The main cautions are the steep price, occasional checkout totals higher than advertised, and the fact that the 5090 is overkill if you do not need this level of performance.

  • 4K or ultrawide gamers who need a 5090, because a 5080 can struggle to drive high-resolution displays at native settings.

    TeachMeHowTeachMeHowTeachMeHowHuu26

  • Power users replacing a 32GB or 1TB prebuilt, because the extra RAM, storage, and faster CPU make the upgrade feel worthwhile for about $600 more.

    Elon69Elon69racemeIzzC

  • AI researchers running local inference, because 64GB RAM and a 2TB SSD support large models and avoid paying for rented GPU time.

    wlpattySandCatGoElon69

  • Researchers and workstation users who want a quiet, well-built tower, because it runs cool, stays quiet under light load, and has minimal bloatware.

    HuaHu4Tyofwayaoli87

  • Gamers expecting top-tier frame rates from the 285K, because it can trail AMD chips by 25-30% in gaming workloads.

    yaoli87

  • Shoppers who need the advertised 5090 configuration, because the deal may actually ship with a 5080, a lower-tier processor, and an 850W power supply.

    IzzC

  • Buyers who need a quieter gaming tower, because the competing Omen 5090 is reported to be much quieter.

I'm tempted to get this deal so I can upgrade from my 5080 FE. It's not enough for the Neo G9 57".

Yeah it's a fixed sku. It's a much better deal than adjusting the HP Omen 45L. With that build, you'd only get 16GB or RAM instead of 64GB for roughly the same price.

Didn't you get the hp deal? Looking to add more to the arsenal? Not judging. Just asking.
This is 64 GB DDR5-5600MT/s. 45L was 32GB 6000MT/s, also it had upgrade option to 64GB 6000MT/S.

I did, that was $3600

This is 2TB - instead of 1TB
64GB instead of 32GB
CPU I think is a lot faster. I didn't upgrade the CPU since it was going to be more GPU bound for the machine.

all for $600 more. Was wondering maybe I get this and just flip the HP back at the price I paid for it and wanted to check what the upgrade prices were for more ram.

just looking to see if I can basically upgrade over the HP I already got.

or I sell the laptop 5090... idk. I will def flip one of them over if I get another desktop 5090.

Compared the the HP one I got, I think this one is better given CPU, RAM, and storage upgrades for just $600 more than the $3600 HP deal I got in March?

Nice. I'm comparing this to the 45L which I upgraded to 64GB and 9900X. It only cost me 4300 including taxes while this is closer to 4500.
Advantage of 45L: 64GB 6000MT/s with RGB, Wifi 7 + Bluetooth 5.4, PSU - much better, 9900X has more L3 cache(gaming).
Advantage of this one: 2TB storage, has better L2cache (almost everything else).
Tough one for me, but if you didn't do upgrades on 45L, this might be better.

Reminds me of the crazy bitcoin mining days until ASIC came along. This too will someday pass... patience.
