I own the 32GB RAM, 4070 model of this laptop, and as I've posted here before - there are probably two dozen laptops in my household at any one time, and that Swift X is one of my favorites. It has a fantastic metal build, excellent display, good I/O, good keyboard and trackpad...I do wish the audio were better, but there are many options in software for tinkering and it's possible to get sound that is MUCH better than the default, out-of-the-box experience.

If you can get by with 16GB RAM and the 4060, I'd highly recommend this as a fantastic combination of portability and power. It comes with a 100W charger, but I use a very tiny Anker Nano 100W to make the package even more portable. And don't discount the 14.5" display - it may not sound like much of an increase over 14", but it is quite noticeably nicer. As I've written elsewhere, I actually prefer this to my 14" laptops (including ASUS G14s).

The Swift X 14 stands out as a portable creator and light gaming laptop, pairing a 3K 120Hz OLED display, RTX 4060 graphics, strong metal build, and good keyboard, trackpad, and I O. The 14.5 inch panel is described as noticeably nicer than a 14 inch screen, and the package includes a 100W charger. The main tradeoff is the soldered 16GB of RAM, which cannot be upgraded, and the GPU runs at a low 50W power limit with no variable refresh rate. It feels like a strong value if the fixed memory and modest gaming compromises fit your needs.

  • The laptop combines an OLED display with an RTX 4060 and 1TB storage for strong portability and gaming capability.

  • The metal build, display quality, and I/O plus keyboard and trackpad performance are praised as standout features.

  • The 14.5-inch OLED screen is described as noticeably nicer than 14-inch variants while still keeping the system portable.

    SpiritMist

  • The included 100W charger supports a more portable setup when paired with a compact 100W adapter.

    SpiritMist

  • The 16GB RAM is not upgradable, which can limit future use as 32GB becomes more desirable.

    dandiegoFloS9618FuschiaHamster8354

  • The GPU is described as having a low TGP around 50W, which can reduce gaming performance expectations.

    SRFNYC

  • The display is described as lacking VRR on a fixed 120Hz panel, which can lead to screen tearing.

    SRFNYC

  • B&H is reported to not accept returns on opened laptops, so buyers need confidence before keeping the device.

Too bad it's on 16gb ram. But still a great deal.
Don't make that mistake. If it's windows, needs to have at least 32gb.

What software do you use for tinkering with the audio?

I would buy this in a heartbeat if the ram was upgradable! I hate this nonsense. My computer I want to replace Lenovo yoga is great laptop, great CPU but only 8gb ram not upgradable. And I'm not trying to get stuck like this again. My Asus OLED I bought for home had 8gb built in a 1 slot available that I was able to put a 48gb stick in. So I got 56gb of ram here and it's great. And I need to replace this yoga with another smaller laptop to bring to work but I can't be stuck with 16gb... I would like to get minimum 32 but if prefer to be upgradable so I can pop in extra if I want. Like my Asus...
Otherwise you have an great laptop that becomes useless because of the ram. Like my yoga.

I would have def done it if I knew it. IDC about OLED it's over hyped. I have Asus OLED. It's not that much better than a good IPS and then you have to worry about image burning nonsense.

Well that's not true. It doesn't NEED at least 32... But it's definitely nice to have. 16 is recommended. 8 is minimum. But I don't want to be stuck with 16. In couple years from now 32 will be the recommended and you will be stuck with this great laptop that limited by ram.
Screw these companies for not putting ram slots anymore.

Only buy a laptop from B&H if you know you'll keep it. They do not accept returns on opened laptops.

The Acer Swift Go 16 AI from Best Buy might be a better deal. Similar price with an AMD Ryzen AI 9, but no OLED screen.

I disagree. Ryzen AI 9 465 is more energy efficient but does not deliver much more computing power. OLED screen + 4060 brings this computer to another level that the Swift Go 16 cannot reach. Though, the Go 16 deal has more RAMs. So if you want a larger (though inferior) screen and do not plan to play any games at all, go with the Go 16. If you value a good screen, light weight, and do even a bit of gaming, then Swift X 14 here is the clear winner.
