If you have any intention of doing AI work, 12gb is abysmal.

You can actually do a lot with 12GB. Even 6GB is useful. It all depends on what you need it for.

They are bad, but they were even worse a half a decade to a decade ago.

The 5070 definetly seems like a worse 70level entry than past iterations of the 70 series though.

It seems like they've kind of changed the naming conventions and the 5080 is the 70 series of the past, and the 5070 is the 60 series of the past.

I have a 1070 that is still fairly functional a decade later. I have no hopes that this 5070 will be anything but a turd in 10 years.

I think a 3080 was way more expensive back in the day than a 5080 is today, even after like 50% inflation (which means a 5080 isn't just priced lower in raw dollars, in real inflation dollars its WAY cheaper).

Can I get $400 for the CPU, $40 for the PSU and keep the 5070 for $500?

Good thing AI it's useful or makes money lol. Agents making API calls to sloppy LLMs that hallucinate because they are probably algorithms isn't a good use of time lol
