Ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential in like new condition is landing at a very low effective price, especially when the extra 40 percent discount applies, with totals around $30 to $33 and even lower on multiple units. It is framed as a solid basic smart thermostat upgrade that works on its own, while optional sensors only help it read room temperature better and do not act as separate thermostats. The main caveat is that homes with HVAC accessories or dual transformer wiring may need the Enhanced or Premium models instead. A strong value if you just need the core thermostat.
Common Questions (4)
Yes, some power companies offer this thermostat for free, and several accounts showed extra 40% off on top of the listed deal price. That can drop the like-new unit into the low-$30 range or lower.
With the extra 40% discount, buyers reported totals around $30 to $32 for like-new units. One order of two came out to $70 with tax after the additional discount.
Yes. It works on its own without sensors, and optional sensors only help it better understand the temperature in a space. The sensors do not act as extra thermostats or control separate zones.
It is a solid basic upgrade if you do not already have a smart thermostat. If you need HVAC accessories like a ventilator, humidifier, or dehumidifier, or you have separate Rc/Rh transformers, the Enhanced or Premium models are the better fit.
