I put all the components into PC Part Picker, and without OS the total came out to $1263. I'm going to bite on this to upgrade my old reliable 1060GTX.

It runs horizon 6 better than 5060TI 8G.

The GPU is only 20% faster than the 3050.

You could probably expect 60 to 80 FPS with these specs for AAA games on 1440p, medium settings. Don't expect too much, though; the specs look budget with cheap parts.

Short answer: yes. At this price point you get a lot of upgrade paths except the CPU which you can upgrade within the same year, but not further. Expect to swap the graphics card in a few years ($600).

50 games at 1080p and 1440p. Performance is wildly inconsistent at 1080p, 1440p is more consistent but still game drivers are the big issue

Avoid ARC if you play: 1. competitive titles, 2. older DX11 games or 3. Starfield. Avoid it for 1080p gaming

I don't game, just lots of PDFs, spreadsheets, web surfing. My current desktop is 10 years old. This a good upgrade?
