Make sure you have the base already installed. This is not a standalone unit.

You can look at the image. There aren't any pre drilled holes.

Yes, it can be used without the LINK system. Drill holes into the back to mount onto a wall.

I bought two of these, mainly for the price as well as the wall rails ($19 on sale). Packout is great but a waste of money for some things. Now, the separately purchased wall rails and other hooks are very good quality. It's nice that it comes in a single row unlike Packout's huge wall plate. The shelf I opened is very thin and had some small dents right out of the box. The hooks below the shelf are crazy thin and bend very easily, just touching them makes them bend, seriously under engineered. The steel construction for maximum durability claim on the box is laughable. Anyway, it does hold 2 heavy Ego batteries and chargers without issue. I'm not sure if I will use the other shelf but I will be getting more of the wall rails and hooks for my landscaping tools. It seems solid and way cheaper than Packout for just hanging landscaping tools. I bought 7 different hooks on clearance for less than 2 Packout hooks. Packout is great for tools and sits on another wall so he Link stuff still looks good. I do hate the Ryobi green so I may be painting these Ryobi Link items black or red, lol.
