This is a strong value 9070 XT deal, with the card praised for solid performance and near 5070 Ti class results at a much lower price. The $629 tag is described as only a little above MSRP and attractive versus current Nvidia pricing, especially for buyers weighing a 6800 XT upgrade or a 4K, high frame rate setup. The main cautions are reported driver crashes on some Gigabyte cards and concern about past thermal gel issues on the 9000 series. Its 11.3 inch length also makes it easier to fit in tighter cases.

  • The $629 price is framed as strong value versus Nvidia alternatives and even relative to MSRP.

  • The 9070 XT can deliver noticeably higher frame rates than a 6800 XT at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K Ultra without ray tracing.

  • The card's compact 11.3-inch length can fit builds that need a front 360AIO without GPU interference.

  • The upgrade can be compelling for users who hit VRAM limits on an RTX 3080, especially at 4K gaming.

  • Gigabyte-specific experiences can include driver crashes and thermal gel concerns on 9000-series cards.

  • Driver crashes can persist in common games even after rolling back multiple driver versions.

  • Some owners do not view the 9070 XT as an upgrade over a 6800 XT for their own use case.

  • FSR 4 timing and quality on 6000-series cards may lag 9000-series, and overall enhancement may not match 1:1.

I had a $610 GC burning a hole in my pocket. I no longer have that GC.

still drivers issues for many common games, ive even tried back 3 drivers back and still crashes. especially world of warcraft.
I have the same card with hundreds of hours in WoW (retail or classic) without a single crash.

Agreed. Good deal.
Worth it to upgrade from 6800 xt since it's getting fsr 4?

Gigabyte cards aren't great. Driver crashes and such.Don't make the same mistake I did.Opt for an ASUS, XFX, or Power Color.

Didn't Gigabyte 9000 series cards have thermal gel issues? Thy would leak all over... 🤔

One could assume this has been fixed, but...

The ASUS Tuf Gaming 9070 XT I have after swapping out the Gigabyte card I had, has been rock solid. One of the best 9070 XT cards that doesn't require the 12v plug that catches fire, (has 3 8pins).

Asus is known for horrible warranty. Also bad QA. Sadly.
