Kind of bare bones. Find the hood to be pretty important for maintenance and there are more portable versions. However those all cost quite a bit more. Really have enjoyed my blackstone

There is an indoor grill from Costco at $90 with lid if someone is interested. https://www.costco.com/.product.4...or%3Acream. Although, I just got the Cuisinart indoor grill from the store for $80.

Need the hood, but get a cover and you'll be fine.

If I saw that posted locally and was in decent shape I'd grab it in a heartbeat. There's a ton local but all rusted and people want top dollar for them

These are significantly underpowered. I have one of these and I have a Camp Chef explorer with griddle. This has 12,500 BTUs, the Camp Chef had 30,000x2 burners. My Blackstone does not get hot enough to properly sear anything. If you are just looking to griddle bacon and eggs and things like, that this would work for you though.

In my experience for camping you will want at least 22" griddle for a family of two. Keep in mind that there are some cool areas in front and sides.

Thank you for this post. I was going to order it for camping but I'll hold off for a bigger one.

literally bringing this camping with family of 5 this weekend. Bought on a clearance deal at Tractor supply found on slickdeals a few years back for only $50, but of course inflation these days. Have the cover for it and the table/stand, bought that from fb marketplace I believe for $20.

This is the griddle that got me into griddling, I only use it for camping and bought a Weber slate for home use. The Blackstone is a bit small, but I wouldn't want to be lugging around even larger than this with all my camp gear anyways, and it works great for making breakfast (pancakes, turkey bacon, hash browns, eggs) and also great for burgers/hotdogs, so really excellent for camping! Have not tried steaks as was mentioned in another comment here, but I know we've done fish and chicken successfully on it.

If you've never owned a griddle be sure to season it often, my mistake when buying this was not seasoning it, it got rusty, I stopped using it for a while. I was able to remove the rust, clean it up and re-season it without issues now, just use a good oil like avocado oil for best taste, you can get away with canola or vegetable oil also.
