I have a similar model from Costco. The wife loves it. I would go with this one since the drain is in the middle. Mine is in the right corner.

What makes you like the drain in the middle?

I think it's worse for using the cabinet space.

Since I'm actively considering changing I like to know if I'm going to cause myself pain

depends on where your drain hole is and how much leeway your p trap will give you it's similar space but i think middle drain gives flexibility to keeping corners cleani have right side drain and i use drying rack on left sidei have to make a conscience effort to scrub the left area since it has water stains or doesn't get rinsed as well

It make sense only, if you can do DIY change. Labor for putting these would be $300 to $500 depending on location, how expensive is your house, what kind of cars parked in your driveway etc. These handyman are greedy!
