UGREEN's Bluetooth transmitter is aimed at flight entertainment and other devices with a 3.5 millimeter audio output, and it can also work for TV listening through a receiver or earbuds. It is praised for low lag and simple movie watching, with some pairing fine on AirPods Pro 2 and others saying it works best with older AirPods. The main caveats are compatibility uncertainty with newer AirPods Pro models, occasional disconnects after pausing, and a bright blue white indicator light that cannot be turned off. A practical travel accessory if your headphones and source device line up.

Common Questions (5)

  • It is reported to work only with older AirPods and not with AirPods Pro 2, Pro 3, or Pro 4. One user did get it working with AirPods Pro 2, but noted Bluetooth can disconnect after pausing and may require re-pairing.

  • For movie watching, it can have no noticeable lag. For live instrument use like guitar, the delay will definitely be too much, so a lower-latency gaming headset is a better fit.

  • At $18.04 it is considered reasonable if you have older AirPods, and the page may still show a buy-two-get-50% promotion that brings two units to about $20. It is transmitter-only and uses Bluetooth 5.3.

    nicktoday8flipmarc

  • It has a bluish-white light when powered on, and there is no way to turn it off. That can be annoying in a dark room or on a flight.

  • Yes. It can work with any device that has a 3.5mm audio output, though it is mainly meant for airplane infotainment screens and similar travel use.

Is the latency on this too much for using Bluetooth headphones on a Guitar FX pedal like the Boss GX-1? I tried one back in the day and the delay between guitar strum to when you hear it was just too much to be useful. Would love to be able to be as wireless as possible.

Not a terrible price if you have the old airpods, but I've had mixed success with this brand

No, it will work with any device with a 3.5mm audio output but the primary use is for the most common infotainment screens available on long flights. However, many new aircraft infotainment screens nowadays have integrated bluetooth connectivity.

The delay will definitely be too much for playing guitar. You might want to look into "gaming" headsets, which do offer lower latency, but most of the ones I have seen use a USB connection. But there probably are some with just a 3.5mm jack.

What do you even mean? What technical limit? Because I have even cheaper airplane Bluetooth sets and they've worked with pro2 without issue.

I bought this last February. Buy two and get 50% and I see the deal is still active on the page. So basically two for $20. BT5.3 and transmitter only.

Can you connect multiple devices to it. Could I use it on a laptop and have two people using headphones?
I'm curious about that as well. My use case would be having 2 headsets connected to it for tv use as well
