Comparing the CPUs of the intel machine and the AMD machine (note: this is last generation AMD, but there weren't much gains...so AMD might be a LITTLE better than these numbers)
Intel machine a little faster in single core (2% in geekbench) while the AMD machine is a bit more faster in multicore (15% in geekbench). But CPU speeds are probably close enough most wouldn't notice a difference.
GPU is quite a bit better in the intel machine. (21% faster). Biggest overall difference here so far, if you have plans on giving the GPU a workout!
Battery life between the CPUs seems like a wash (supposedly the intel machine is a little better when doing light tasks, but the AMD machine is a little better when working hard).
If it was just these items alone, I'd say the intel machine is better...but
The intel machine is in the Aspire platform which isn't as nice feeling/built as the AMD swift machine. If this is something you care about, major points for AMD.
I'm not sure if one machine has a bigger battery than the other. If so, that'd be a major perk.
Display is a bit weak - non oled and only 350 nits
other wise good specs.

"The AMD Ryzen AI 9 465 (a 10-core/20-thread processor with 20 threads) heavily outperforms the Intel Core Ultra 9 288V (an 8-core/8-thread processor) in heavily multithreaded tasks. However, the Intel Ultra 9 288V features significantly faster single-core speeds, a smaller 3nm node, and its integrated graphics excel in power efficiency and certain creative benchmarks. "
That tilts it a little in the direction of the Intel variant as most things people do happen in single core.

Use would be for work and traveling with it back and forth
