The P1 worked very well when I had my smoker and BBQ on my back patio. However a remodel/addition required me to relocate them to another location on the opposite side of our house from the kitchen. The P1 worked okay most of the time but occassionally lost communication with the probe.
That prompted the upgrade to G1 and I've never looked back. Communication is always locked in...even when I take the base station with me to the kitchen.

The ambient external and 5 points of internal temperature on one prob sold me. I've got a couple of wired Thermoworks probs, but the features on the ThermoMaven seem nice. I'm curious to see how this holds up. I've had my Thermoworks for years.
