they are easily replacable.
The ears in particular. You can order replacement earcovers and they are a removable part of the headphones. In fact, you have to take the ear covers off to replace the battery inside, which is just a normal AAA nimh cell. So, this isn't like removing them from other headphones, it literally has a latch

These headphones are insane, I've had mine for years and literally fell drunk and had them smash into a doorway like a helmet and never missed a beat. You can get the RS185 ear foams, which I have, to avoid the pleather ones disintegrating.

And they are really good, I can tell what floor enimies are on several buildings away in shooters.
