Community Reviews
The Sofirn Q8 Plus is a big, high output rechargeable flashlight that works well for camping, around the house use, and as a work light or lantern with the diffuser or ceiling bounce. It throws a lot of light, can light up a yard or field impressively, and the Anduril 2 interface adds customizable button lights, thermal limits, and storage settings. The main tradeoffs are size and heat, since it is heavy, gets very hot on turbo, and may need a quarter turn to disconnect the batteries for long storage. The 6000K version is favored for maximum brightness and a more dramatic beam.
Tinkerers who like customizable flashlight controls, because Anduril 2 lets you change aux LEDs, thermal limits, and other settings.
Campers wanting a lantern-style light, because the diffuser or ceiling bounce works well on low for tent or campsite use.
People lighting a yard, field, or work area, because it throws a huge amount of light and still has decent output after heating up and throttling back.
Household users who want one grab-and-go flashlight, because it gets used more than other lights around the house and is the one reached for when pocket carry is not needed.
Long-term storage users who want zero battery fuss, because the auxiliary LEDs can drain the cells unless they are turned off or the batteries are disconnected.
People wanting a compact everyday carry light, because it is a beast of a flashlight and is not comfortable to hold barehanded on Turbo.
Buyers expecting a warm, color-accurate beam for close-up tasks, because the 6000K version looks brighter but is less practical than 5000K for everyday work.
People who need a light that stays cool during sustained high output, because it gets very hot after a few minutes on Turbo.

If you are planning to store the light and not use it for and extended period, you should discharge the batteries to 3.7 - 3.8 volts before putting it away. The light has a built in voltage check function. Just don't store it at 100% charge for extended periods.

Me, I don't mind the quarter turn to disconnect the batteries completely to be sure they are not drained when I want to play...
Really only an issue if you don't use/recharge the light for prolonged periods.
Hmmm, no... it's just an option. You can also turn them off if they bother you. With Anduril, you have all the options. Like Triggerhappy says...
