The SK30 is a compact 21700 tactical flashlight that keeps the SK40 family feel while shifting toward easier carry and simpler operation. It puts out about 3000 lumens on turbo, uses the same LED as the SK40, and the dual tail switches make it more user friendly than the SK40's tail and side switch setup. The smaller straight tube head should lean more toward flood than throw. The main caution is that Amazon flags it as frequently returned, and Sofirn's long term reliability gets mixed real world feedback.
The dual tail switch setup can make the user interface more user-friendly than the SK40's tail plus side switch layout.
The SK30 can be easier to carry because it appears lighter and more pocketable than the SK40.
The SK30 uses a 21700 battery and delivers turbo output around 3000 lumens.
The SK30's smaller straight-tube head design can shift the beam toward more flood and less throw.
The SK30's dual tail switches may change how the UI works compared with the SK40's tail plus side switch combination.
Amazon shows an alert indicating this flashlight is frequently returned.
Sofirn lights reportedly can fail within about a year after purchasing multiple units.
A deal shopper may want to wait for other Sofirn 21700 flashlight discounts around $20 if they are not in a hurry.
