Dr. Bronner's peppermint bar soap is a natural, strongly scented bar that stands out for its peppermint smell and skin benefits. The bars are being found at a sharp clearance price around $9.97, with some stores still showing low stock or a few cases left, and the deal is especially notable versus the usual roughly $5 per bar. The peppermint can feel intense, causing burning or dryness on sensitive skin, though it may mellow with use and works well for shaving or even the face. It is a handy pickup if you like peppermint and do not mind a brisk tingle.
People who want a peppermint shower soap with a strong scent, because it smells good and can leave the shower smelling fresh.
The soap has a strong peppermint scent, but the tingle can range from mild to intense depending on your skin and use. It can sting sensitive areas or cuts, while some users find the bar version more muted than the bottled version.
The $9.97 price is a clearance price, and the item appears to be getting cleared out or phased out at some Costco locations. It may be hard to find in the app or online, so it's worth buying now if your store still has stock.
It can work well for acne-prone skin and some sensitive-skin users, with reports of fewer breakouts and a calming effect on inflammation. It can also dry and itch some bodies, so it may be better tolerated on the face than on the body.
It may not last as long as Irish Spring for some users, and the peppermint scent can fade over time if the bar sits in the shower. Others report the bars themselves last a long time, so longevity seems to depend on storage and use.
Yes, it can work as a shaving soap if you use a decent brush and plenty of water to rinse away the peppermint oil. It may be too intense as a bath soap for some people, but it can be practical for shaving.
I don't like peppermint but I use nothing but Bonner Bar soap, usually the lavender. It's pricey but I had chronic cystic acne and this was the only soap that cleared it all up. If I use any other soap I break back out. Something in it calms my skin and stops the inflammation. At this price it's tempting. It's usually almost $5 a bar.
Same thing for me, I wouldn't say chronic but I tend to get cystic acne here and there. Once I started using this soap, I rarely get anything.
My local store said low stock but I went and they still had several cases. Not sure what their threshold is for that but it seems fairly high. It also really wasn't advertised or obviously this is a great deal. The average person walking by this wouldn't be alerted and say oh man I need to grab this.
Thanks for the post. I bought the last 1 package in store today for $7. It sure smell good. My favorite is Irish Spring bar soap so give this a try. If fail, use for garden pest detergent.
Bought this awhile ago. Had to stop using it on my body. My skin would dry and itch badly. I tried different water temps and still ended up dry and itching... Great for the face though! Never broke out using on my face

No offense to the Irish, they're great folks.

I also use the liquid version of this and mix it with water and that doesn't lose the peppermint smell.
