Most Samsung appliances are very subpar when it comes to reliability and their warranty and repair quality. Almost everyone I know who bought a Samsung washer, dryer, or refrigerator has had it fail prematurely, and most of them have had really bad experiences with the repair person doing a terrible job so they had to call them a 2nd or 3rd time to fix it right. Most people I know with LG appliances have had significantly better reliability with their washers and dryers.

I was told by a reputable sales guy that 'Samsucks' when it comes to any appliance that uses water (refrigerator, washing machine). He said absolutely do not buy.

Stick to TVs when it comes to Samsung (and even then Hisense, TCL, and Vizio are taking them for a walk when it comes to value)

I'm similar fashion: we just purchased and moved into our 'new-to-us' first home. We purchased a Samsung washer, albeit a front loader, based on the brand name/popularity in other tech areas.
It lasted literally 4 years and 3 months (we had purchased the 4 year warranty). It wasn't the motor that broke (which had a 10 year warranty) - instead it was the spider mount that holds the tub. We had learned that particular part was known to be weak and go bad.

We then put our trust in an LG front loader. Crossing my fingers and knocking on wood, it's going on 9 years.
