In terms of performance, this should be a step above the cheapo Walmart(Onn)/Amazon-branded tablets and a step below the base iPad or the Samsung S10 Lite series. My unc has one and it's fine for watching conspiracies videos on YouTube and browsing the web. Watching a picture-in-picture video while simultaneously rambling on the facebooks is also fine.
Closest competitor to this like another comment alluded to is the Samsung A11+. The A11+ has a better CPU and longer software support while the Lenovo has slightly more RAM and a better display. If someone has a budget of sub $200 and just wants to do media consumption than this Lenovo Idea Tab should be fine.
Community Reviews
The Lenovo Idea Tab is a budget 11 inch Android tablet that stands out for its 2.5K screen, included pen, and solid media use. It handles streaming, web browsing, reading, YouTube, and light gaming well, with Balatro, Roblox, Minecraft, GTA San Andreas, and even some retro emulation getting positive real world use. The headphone jack, USB C fast charging, and 8GB RAM make it feel more capable than cheap entry tablets. The main drawback is the MediaTek 6300, which keeps it from feeling fast for heavier multitasking or demanding apps, and the 480 gram weight may matter if you want something very light. A practical pick for everyday entertainment and casual use.
Readers and video watchers who want a light 11-inch tablet, because it handles comics, movies, YouTube, and web browsing smoothly.
Families setting up a guest or kids' room tablet, because it is fine for low-stakes streaming, browsing, and light gaming.
Note-takers who want stylus support, because the tablet includes pen support and works well for handwritten use.
Retro gamers who stay below heavier emulation, because Dreamcast, N64, PSX, and PSP run fine while tougher GameCube and PS2 titles struggle.
Heavy multitaskers who keep many apps or browser tabs open, because the tablet can crawl and web browsing feels slow under load.
People expecting a fast all-purpose tablet, because the processor is repeatedly described as slow for everyday browsing and app switching.
Long-term owners who want dependable software support, because Lenovo tablet updates and support are described as limited or unreliable.
Couch surfers who want a very light handheld, because the tablet is described as heavy enough to feel like a brick.

First of all, it is pretty light. I have an iPad Pro M1 11inch.
This is much, much lighter.
I only use it to surf reddit and watch youtube videos. Sometimes, I pop in a usb-c drive stick to watch VLC movies. No problemo.
And AI chat. It does the job. No complaints so far.
The tariffs have killed the AMAZING chinese tablets.
The only one I know that we can get for a decent price right now is the Poco M1... sold by a Canadian company and some how no tarriffs are paid. It seems that while the tablets are in the US on the way to Canada... if they get sold here in the US, no tariffs are paid... at least that is my take. And it seems to be a decent price for what you get.
FWIW, I'm not slamming the import tablet market but just pointing out when many people say "this only as X amount of ram"...they generally have no idea what that even means. Even if they understand VRAM vs physical ram, they clearly can't grasp there is more going on that just how many GB's of memory the system is working with. It's like discussing raw HP or engine size in a random vehicle, without far more context the entire conversation is pointless.
Just want to point out that yes... MT6300 = G99 = SD695.
So it is equal to a Snap Dragon 695 NOT a Snap Dragon 480 (HUGE DIFFERENCE)
The MT6300 is only 2x Cortex A76 + 6x Cortex A55 same as Helio G99 and SD480.
I have a SD4 gen 1 (almost the same as SD695) and MT6100+ (almost the same as MT6300). The SD4 gen 1 is noticeably faster.

While there are plenty of better tablets, the price/performance on the iPlay60 was really good.
