The Lenovo Idea Tab is a budget 11 inch Android tablet that stands out for its 2.5K screen, included pen, and solid media use. It handles streaming, web browsing, reading, YouTube, and light gaming well, with Balatro, Roblox, Minecraft, GTA San Andreas, and even some retro emulation getting positive real world use. The headphone jack, USB C fast charging, and 8GB RAM make it feel more capable than cheap entry tablets. The main drawback is the MediaTek 6300, which keeps it from feeling fast for heavier multitasking or demanding apps, and the 480 gram weight may matter if you want something very light. A practical pick for everyday entertainment and casual use.

I have this tablet, I paid $150 or so which came with a pen.

First of all, it is pretty light. I have an iPad Pro M1 11inch.
This is much, much lighter.

I only use it to surf reddit and watch youtube videos. Sometimes, I pop in a usb-c drive stick to watch VLC movies. No problemo.
And AI chat. It does the job. No complaints so far.

This will make a FANTASTIC digital picture frame. My current tablet picture frame was a cheapo generic brand and after a few years, the battery has gone puffy.

The tariffs have killed the AMAZING chinese tablets.

The only one I know that we can get for a decent price right now is the Poco M1... sold by a Canadian company and some how no tarriffs are paid. It seems that while the tablets are in the US on the way to Canada... if they get sold here in the US, no tariffs are paid... at least that is my take. And it seems to be a decent price for what you get.
Tarriffs killed darn near everything Wink

FWIW, I'm not slamming the import tablet market but just pointing out when many people say "this only as X amount of ram"...they generally have no idea what that even means. Even if they understand VRAM vs physical ram, they clearly can't grasp there is more going on that just how many GB's of memory the system is working with. It's like discussing raw HP or engine size in a random vehicle, without far more context the entire conversation is pointless.

Just want to point out that yes... MT6300 = G99 = SD695.

So it is equal to a Snap Dragon 695 NOT a Snap Dragon 480 (HUGE DIFFERENCE)
SD695 is 2x Cortex A78 + 6x Cortex A55.

The MT6300 is only 2x Cortex A76 + 6x Cortex A55 same as Helio G99 and SD480.

I have a SD4 gen 1 (almost the same as SD695) and MT6100+ (almost the same as MT6300). The SD4 gen 1 is noticeably faster.

Yeah, I remember getting my Alldocube iPlay60 mini with SD6 gen 1+8GB RAM for $125+tax (they advertise it as 16GB RAM but it's really 8GB physical+8GB virtual memory/swap). That one's pretty good for up to PS2 emulation.

While there are plenty of better tablets, the price/performance on the iPlay60 was really good.

Great... I only listen to "notebookcheck.com" and they say otherwise.

For all of you arguing about the processor speed, you can get the Idea Tab Pro with the mediatek 8300, its benchmark number are about twice the regular idea tab. You can use the coupon code on that one as well, it comes out to $237.50 plus tax. Yes it costs more but I'm not sure you can do better. It's faster then the A11+ as well.

I bought this tablet for my son a few months ago. It came with the Lenovo Pen and folio case. It's solid and performs really well. He's using it for gaming (roblox, fortnite, minecraft) with no issues. It's great for youtube and the headphone jack is a plus! I am a techy person and thought 8gb might be an issue but no issues there. Screen is awesome, too.

Caveat, that's a 13" tablet at 620g. For me, that's more of a "use-while-docked" rather than a "great-for-couch-surfing" tablet.

Any one knows a higher-grade tablet with better specs and definitely optimal AI as a deal for this coming week's event? Also, Lenovo's larger screen was at a great price on the last sale. Any idea on other Lenovo tablets?

I would love the 8GB on the Pro, but not at a 55% price increase over the $160 doorbuster with 6GB. Honestly the extra size and weight on the Pro is also a negative for a tablet IMO as @aerischan points out.
Regular = 6.54" x 10.02" x 0.28″ and 480g / 1.06lbs
Pro = 7.44″ x 11.49″ x 0.27″ and 620g / 1.37lbs
