This was originally intended as one movie called "Jack Ryan and the Hunt for the Sum of All Clear and Present Patriot Games."
Turned out to be a bit of a mouthful though, so they turned it into 5 movies and a TV series.

Eh, they turned Jack Ryan into a generic action hero instead of the more cerebral analyst he was written as in the books. It's a watchable show but not true to the spirit of Jack Ryan. The new Prime movie is supposed to be pretty bad.

I loved the books and the movies were good. I was surprised that I liked the TV series and how Jim from The Office did in the role, though he is no Harrison Ford or Alec Baldwin. I was tempted to get these until I saw they were not movies anywhere compatible. I am through with being locked into an ecosystem (e.g. apple books, kindle, etc).
