Why is everything BPA-free now? Has anyone stopped to think about those who WANT BPA? They are imposing this just like the sugar-free movement.

Could you use this in countries where you can't drink the tap water and then now drink it or use it to cook pasta or say use it to now rinse your eyes? By that I mean in countries like Thailand, Mexico and similar countries.

I heard about those straws but since it comes with a bottle, can do you do it that way? The straws that I heard about are those like you drink water from a dirty puddle and it's still fine. But this comes with a bottle.

Could you get tap water into it from a kitchen or water faucet in these countries and then use the water? But the issue would be you can't gather all the water at ounce? Like you have to use the straw to get water into the bottle? You have the issue of the water coming out only via a straw? It's not like you can just pour the drinkable and safe water into a big cup or bowl? If you can do that, the issue is it would not last long and filter needs to be replaced very often then? If so, how often would it needs to be replaced then? I guess this is similar to like a Brita but I read even with a Brita, you can't really do that if you want tap water into safe filtered water in countries where you can't drink tap water?

Debatable. High barrier to entry.

I personally wouldn't say that's a better deal unless you're looking for multiples.

In Thailand there is a 7-11 on every corner. Why would you ever be drinking tap water?

This only filters water to make it taste better. Foreign countries may still have bio diverse stuff that will get you sick. I bought a similar item and found very little difference in the PPM dissolved solids but it did make tap water taste better due to the charcoal absorption of any chemicals added by the water company. So I would say this is good to make tap water taste better in a 1st world faucet system,.

Does this not also include their standard lifestraw tech that filters nearly everything but viruses out?

The purpose of this is to put water into the cup and drink through the straw. If you need to filter water for gathering or cooking you need a different product (though similar tech) like a sawyer squeeze.

Well what if you want to use tap water in those countries then if you want water to cook boil some food or something. Can you use this with the tap water from your kitchen faucet or it doesn't remove everything?

I thought I read a Brita doesn't work for that? So if that doesn't this won't since it's a straw? But can you get water out of this water bottle filter after it is filtered to pour like a cup with the water? Or water only comes out from the straw which would make it not usable for this?

I thought the membrane filters out bacteria and parasites?

When traveling, bacteria and parasites are the primary concerns, but they aren't the only ones. You also need to worry about viruses, chemical pollutants, heavy metals, and poor sanitation.
