This thing is crap. I had the 845, which the is the version of this impact driver with selectable mode (which I would highly recommend for an impact driver). I thought the 845 was bad, so this will be even worse. You can get the Atomic for this price or possibly less, or go for the buy-one-get-one or buy-one-get-two deals at HD, Lowe's and Acme tools. You can "hack" those deals and the 860 for less than the price of this piece of trash. The 860 is Dewalt's current generation flagship impact drivers and one of the top two of three impact drivers on the market. The battery and charger in this deal are also garage.

Yes...I meant garbage and not garage.

It's ok. Not bad.

Last December, they had an HD deal for the DCF850B. Atomic version. + choose 2 other items. I returned the other 2 items, and at the end of the ordeal, came out to be $73.55, DCF850B, tool only. Happy with it.

In the market for another one. I got a 1/4" socket adapter stuck in this thing a month ago and can't get it out. I miss being able to use this thing, at least for anything other than sockets!

Anybody have any ideas on how to pull that adapter out? Google searches make it appear that my adapter was on the cheap side (it was) and the metal shaped to the grooves inside the bit holder during my last impact session, almost as if it heated and fused to the inside. I've pulled on this thing and hammered on it, and did everything I can and it doesn't budge.

I hate the thought of spending another $100 on an impact wrench just do to a socket adapter being stuck in it.

Might be a dumb idea, but try impacting a bolt in reverse? Clamp a bolt in a vice and let it rip to see if you can get it to loosen up...

Thanks for the reply. Good idea, and I did try against a rusted/seized bolt. Didn't seem to do anything. Hammered away in reverse. Not a budge. Rocked it both ways for a while, but nothing changed. Sucks.
