This DeWalt 20V MAX work light is best as a long running, battery powered shop light for indoor or garage use. It stays cool, does not dim or shut down during long stretches, and can run for days on small batteries while swapping easily with other DeWalt tools. The main drawback is brightness, since the 110 lumen output is considered modest for its size and the beam has limited aiming and no magnet. At $33, it reads as a practical utility light rather than a standout flashlight.
Common Questions (4)
It is not especially bright for its size at 110 lumens, and several users prefer smaller lights that are significantly brighter. It still works well for indoor, garage, and close-up use where long runtime matters more than maximum output.
The battery life is a major strength: it can run for days and stays cool enough that it does not dim or shut down from heat. It is also convenient to swap in another DeWALT battery quickly, and even 2Ah batteries reportedly last a long time.
$33 is described as a reasonable price, but not a standout deal because it has been at this price for a long time. A better value would be around $40 only if it included a battery.
No magnet is mentioned, and the beam can only be aimed downward so far, which limits mounting and positioning options. The light does have a simple one-setting on/off trigger, so it is easy to use once placed.

Cool that I can use this off my drill batteries, but I rarely reach for this and always opt for my smaller one

It doesn't get warm at all, so it never dims or shuts down from being on too long.
Even a 5 day power failure doesn't challenge this thing.
that thing is BRIGHT and long distance.
Carry it in the evening when walking the dog or at night as a legal non lethal "weapon".
if anyone cause trouble to me I would shine on their face to temporarily blind them.
but though I think one of those large mag lights would be better as it can be use as a club for smashing heads.
The bad = Low lumens, mounting options (no magnet), direction of beam (can only aim down so far)
The good = light lasts forevers even on 2mah, your drill runs out of battery just swap real quick, simple on/off trigger (one setting)
