There's enough manufacturers to always go for glass, cast iron, or a solid non-stick metal pan or utensils from a known name brand company preferable American - so they can be sued if people's hair falls out from contamination or something.
But wood with something plastered on the surface from a unknown, and in this case Chinese seller, pass.
Most cutting boards are Teak, and you just seal & maintain them with Mineral Oil
These are very nice utensils but I reached out to Kikcoin and have not gotten a response yet. The 1 star is not for the utensils but for the lack of response from the manufacturer.
The slotted spoon I received has some sort of gook in the holes. I'm not sure if it's wood shavings or from being used. I got most of it out using toothpicks but there's still some that I can't get out. I'm not sure I want to use it.
......
The finish is coming off the edges of the utensils from using them.

They are really finished well high quality and thick sturdy for longevity. (If it really is teak, it wouldn't require finish?)
