Sizes are not good. Not big enough for 50 lbs luggage, not small enough for carry-on.

Wrong. For most people 24" is plenty to get 50lbs and 28" is useless. I specifically seek out 24" because with 28" I kept topping it out with space to spare.

Got the other Samsonite deal. The shell does feel flimsy but hopefully it can survive the impact better. The wheels are undersized for a 28in.

I think the 24" is the perfect size for check in. When I fill it up (not expanded) my cloths come in at just around the 50 pound limit. I had bought a 28" at a local store but when I hit the weight limit there was so much wasted space, just don't see a reason for it.

Grabbed two these from the last deal at 140 and this a no brainer at this price. They are light weight. Carry on does not have built-in tsa lock.

While this is a good deal, I had the 24", and it got damaged probably the third time we took it out - heavy impact to the wheels, and it broke the shell where the wheels were. I just threw it out yesterday. YMMV
