Somehow I don't think these are better than the Anker boom 2 I got at Costco for $40. I know the deal is dead but that will be my measuring stick.

I can't even trust YouTube reviews anymore. Many companies will spam send out to "influencers" and you'll see "reviews" pop up for the same time. See it a lot with portable monitors and other lower cost electronics.
