my "bitdefender antivirus for mac" expires in 277 days. i'm assuming this can't be added to the end, since it's not the same product? also, when does the clock start running on the one year? purchase or activation?

You are correct. They only stack if it's the same product for the same number of devices. So you have to already have Bitdefender Total Security for 5 devices in order to stack this on top

The free version for Windows PCs is pretty great too. With email sign up you get 5 devices. Obviously the free version has less features but it's been fine for some older family members who always click on things they should not be clicking on.
