I now use a Skullcandy Kilo which is perfectly adequate. I'm able to hang it at eye level rather than needing to find a horizontal surface (which is sometimes non-existent in a hotel bathroom)
I see a speaker that looks like this for $30 and it has a 55mm drive.

Coupon only good one one unit. Won't come off on second when added to cart.
- decent amount of bass, no distortion with volume maxed out
- no issues with volume or turning it off
- RGB can be turned off
- can't comment on battery life yet (need to do a full charge and drain test)
Interesting features not advertised anywhere
- has a 3.5mm aux input jack
- takes a microSD or USB flash drive (tested both with a few MP3s on FAT32 formatted volumes - the usual thing with file table ordering applies)
Overall, I like it for the price, though I still prefer the Miatone BoomPro (~2x price, ~1/2 diameter, better sound quality, no 3.5mm/microSD/USB)
