This is not a great price for a small one ton system. Mr Cool was one of the first pre-charged systems out there and their prices still show it. If you have an HVAC neighbor or buddy who can help you, buy some of the other brands that are inverter and heat pump based. It's more than half off of this price. Most of these systems all are manufactured in China with Gree or midea DC powered scroll compressors anyhow.

So I just looked on offer-up and a 12000BTU unit is about 400-500 for a TCL locally. I could spend 400 to hire a guy to do it or do it myself with a vacuum pump and some gauges/fittings. Either way I go it's not close to 1900.
I installed two Pioneers a number of years back myself and while it's a little more complicated because of new wiring, a concrete pad etc. It wasn't the hardest thing in the world.

Is this a multi zone unit? Why the hell is it 4 times the cost of other brands that need to vacuum out the lines? The price of convenience double in the last few years or what?
