I owned the venerable 3620 and 3640, this printer's predecessor.

They were great for their time.

Pay the extra $50 and get the EcoTank. Yes aftermarket cartridge standards are coming. But it'll be 3-5 more years.

Normally, I'd agree- but if you don't print like every week or two the economy tank heads can dry out. For me and my family we're sporadic and not regularly printing.

Obviously deal to deal you would have to wait but an ET-4800 is $169 from Epson Direct refurbished with 1 year warranty.

If you aren't printing weekly this isn't the printer for you to begin with. Just go with a basic one.

Obligatory booooo to Epson. Worst printer experience I have had was a "Workfarce."
