I'm a little uncertain of the idea of blowing steam directly on my dogs hair. Seems like a great way to give your dog some bad burns really easily.

I have a heavy shedding cat. Year round. I already have a great brush but it doesn't steam. I wonder what the steam would do.

I use a flat iron. Its more effective than this. The power of heat is needed.

This product makes no sense. It's not steam but thin mist. Also the flat nature of the brush makes it useless as it won't brush well and will be too rigid. Get a furminator instead

I assume it makes a loud hiss when the steam button is pressed. Cats aren't going to like that. At all.

Or you can just use a $2 spray bottle to mist your pet's hair, then brush with your favorite pet brush.

I've got a furminator and will probably stick with that, but that straight pole-like side of this looks like it might be better for a curly-hair pup (like a doodle); basically like a comb just better ergonomics. The furminator isn't a fit for all dog coats unfortunately but it is good for getting the undercoat from my cat and pyr. For $10 it might be worth a gamble and return if it is trash. The mist *might* be helpful to keep the fur from drifting off but I probably would use it.

looks like it is just mist, which could be done with a spray bottle but a nervous dog may not like either.

Make the mat wet, possibly burn the dog? A dog and steamer, what could go wrong? The dematting tool cannot be used on non- shedding breeds as the yorkie pictured. Otherwise, the mat breaker tool isn't bad, but sharp, meant to cut thru the mats if made well.

Furminators can be bad juju for double coated dog breeds. It cuts the fur as it goes so it damages the top coat. Left my German Shepherd looking funny for a long while.
