How's the quality on these? I have a cheap one but my cat always complains when I try to cut her nails. I'm wondering if the cheap clipper is causing her discomfort

It's a typo. It's not that hard to check price history

I tried trimming last night and almost got sliced and diced for the first time. Don't cats like getting a pedi and mani?

I have had cats all my life and have never trimmed their nails. We have cat towers and they use the rope parts to trim their own nails. I feel like this would be like trying to give them a bath and I'm not brave enough to do that.

cats can groom on their own using a scratching post. This equipment makes no sense.

If you have a freak cat with extra toes, they usually can't get the undersized nail exposed enough to scratch with it. It can grow out, loop into the skin, and cause pain. You have to trim these. Last kitten the wife brought home was polydactyl, she didn't realize. I've had at least four such cats, so my experience says freak feet is surprisingly common.

Not all cats utilize scratching posts the same (or at all) and trimming can be necessary for some cats. That's why vets also offer trimming services for them.
