We use one of each. The 14ft chest freezer has 4 large milk crates, one for each kind of vacuum sealed meat, so it's easy to pull in/out and organize. The standup freezer is where all the meal-planning, leftovers, and frozen foods go for easy access/sorting.

As a side note I think this sale might be the same freezer we own, seems to be working fine.

We ended up using reusable grocery bags for different stuff in ours. Still a complete pain to keep track of what's in it, get at what you need, etc., if it's not near the top - basically empty the thing, grab what you want, put it all back.

california pg&e rates is $0.5-0.6 per kwh. Using your calculation, it's $141 to $169 per year.

Thanks for that update. It is obviously dependent on local rates which have been going up across the country. As you might expect California/Hawaii and other high utility cost states will be much more than typical/average.

Many jobs adjust pay for HCOL and the benefits of living there are tremendous. You get what you pay for.


But anyway, CA is BIG and costs can vary wildly. It's not just SF, LA, SD (as the ravenous for-profit news outlets love to paint their craven narrative headlines with).
