Disco Elysium was great on PC. At $11 might be worth checking out if you're not familiar.

It's a great game, but the Switch version is horrible. Long loading times, stuttering, and worst of all, it kept randomly crashing like once an hour. After losing a bunch of progress twice, I started quick-saving every time I completed a dialogue tree with someone, which made it even slower.

That was a physical Switch copy, don't know if the digital version is any better. The PC version has been on sale in the past for around the same price, I'd strongly recommend that instead.

I like the spooky cozy feel of dredge.

In for Celeste. Already have it on steam but it's so good it's worth the $5 to have on the switch too.

What's good for a 40ish year old gamer that's into games that don't require fast reflexes and are slow and tactical/strategic? RPGs are cool too. I'm playing on a Switch Lite.

Fire Emblem, XCOM, Midnight Suns, Final Fantasy Tactics Ivalice Chronicles, Tactics Ogre Reborn, are worth checking out.

I'm playing strange horticulture on PC right now and enjoying it. Enjoyable but fairly simple puzzle game.

Overcooked 2 is my wife's obsession. Not sure I can recommend it 😜

I wanted to like Sakuna but I didn't.

Atelier games were my jam back in the day. If you've played moonlighter it's pretty similar.

Feels like Celeste and Undertale have been around and recommended so many times you should already own them already but ..

Fire Emblem Three Houses is the one to get. (Fire Emblem Engage is a substantially worse Fire Emblem, and there are also various other unimpressive games using the franchise name.)

Other great choices (tactical RPGs):

  • Final Fantasy Tactics Ivalice Chronicles
  • Unicorn Overlord
  • Triangle Strategy
I'd also strongly recommend Advance Wars, which is in between strategy and strategy RPG.

For JRPGs, I'd recommend Persona V Royal. Most Final Fantasy games are also available for Switch, I recommend FFVI and FFX (both released as part of collections).
