I just got a set installed on my Model Y. Price matched at America's Tire (Discount Tire) for $291 each (they beat the WM price). They also PM'd Walmart's installation for $72 instead of AT's $126. Used my America's Tire Credit card for another $50 off. Total came out to $1,297 (7.75% sales tax). Applied for the $100 Hankook rebate online.

Ok that's good news. I think I heard some hybrids like Prius have to get some special tires to be more fuel efficient or something like that
Yeah, EV tires have less rolling resistance so you'll get more range/MPG and usually quieter. But there are compromises like less traction, higher price, and usually faster tire wear. You decide what features you want and what price you're willing to pay. The Tire Rack has some good comparisons.

I've had these on since Nov 2025. They are way better than the stock tires. And at 7500 miles tesla service said the tread is fine and didnt need to be rotated at the time.
And the rebate takes a long time to get and expires in like 90 days.
$300 per tire is a great motivation for me NOT to get an EV
I've enjoyed my EV a ton, I take into consideration maintenance expenses, fuel and time spent at the pump (i charge at home). I have this set of tires and they are wearing quite well.

Same minus credit card discount. Will be installed next week.

The main issue here is 19", not EV.
A set of 4 Michelin Pilots in this size can easily reach $2k OTD
