How about add an extra $50 and get a Asus ProArt with Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and RTX 4050?

Not defending this deal by any means, but a laptop is more than just CPU & GPU. Do you have a link?

Difference is Asus open box devices don't have proper warranty

Worst think about this is the lack of a discrete GPU. Best thing is the battery life is probably pretty good.

They did bring back XPS line, at outrageous prices.

there is also their lengthy track record of RMA and QC, fine components, but horrible laptops

I went to my local Best Buy a few days ago and then again today, and I noticed a lot of the laptops were removed from the display section. Also, when I check store pickup, every location shows exactly one laptop available, which makes me think it's probably the display unit being sold off.

That seems really solid as well, though I see it as unavailable now. Dell has higher refresh rate, thunderbolt ports, longer advertised battery life, and slightly larger screen, but if you need discrete graphics, then it's a no brainer.
