Both? The his same config on Apple's Website runs $200 more and apparently BestBuy and Microcenter don't even offer this configuration (I was looking on BestBuy to see for a possible price match). BestBuy doesn't offer the 32gb for M5 at all it's seems, and Microcenter only has 15" with 32gb (about $250 more than this offering). So this seems like a pretty rare config outside of Apple's Website and it's $200 cheaper. So seems like a pretty solid deal for this model.

This MacBook Air deal stands out for the rare 32GB M5 configuration, which is hard to find outside Apple and comes in well below Apple's price. The extra memory is the main draw here, especially for heavy multitasking and local AI workloads, and the Air still gets praise as one of Apple's best-built laptops in years. The main caveat is value, since education pricing, Costco bundles, and occasional open box or special order options can land closer. A strong pick if this exact memory tier matters.

Common Questions (4)

  • It can be useful for heavier workloads like local AI models and large multitasking sessions, including running quantized Qwen-class models. For everyday use, 16GB is described as already very capable, and the Air's passive cooling may limit sustained LLM performance.

  • Yes. The exact M5 13-inch 32GB configuration is hard to find at Best Buy and Micro Center, and Apple's own price is about $200 higher. Micro Center only appears to offer a 15-inch 32GB version unless you special-order it.

  • Yes. The Payboo card can immediately offset sales tax, with one purchase saving 10.4%, and matching the price to ABT can trigger an Amex offer for an additional $125 off. Another buyer also stacked a $20 Amex offer on top of the ABT match.

    litsterbobdeltjcky000

  • It is only about $80 below education pricing, so the discount is modest versus Apple's student price. Compared with Costco, the B&H 32GB model is about $200 more than a 24GB configuration, though Costco includes 3 years of AppleCare+ for $160.

Is this a good price or "can't find elsewhere"?

Not true. Just ordered one for pick up
Where? Best Buy or Microcenter? Can you provide the link? The only thing I'm seeing when I search are M4 models with 32gb of RAM. I would personally love to order one myself (assuming you're referring to Best Buy. If Microcenter, I know stock for them will likely vary based on location - none with that spec here in Houston)

Microcenter does... if you can get them to special order it for you at the sale price. YMMV

At Microcenter you can order any config you want and get a 10% discount normally (or 15% today ... not sure how long that deal will last.)

No idea if BestBuy also supports custom configs, but you can ask ...

32GB RAM allows you to run the dense Qwen3.6 27B model (needs to be quantized). Crazy to think you can run frontier level models from half year ago on a $1400 machine

Bought M5 MacBook Air 13 with 32GB RAM and 1TB, also applied and approved for payboo credit card and saved 10.4% sales tax immediately. This 32GB version is only $50 more than the 24GB version I bought from Costco three days ago, tax included. The Costco one is unopened and will be returned back to Costco.
Will pay off the one from B&H immediately. The card has crazy APR interest rate.
