The sensors are not very sensitive and you have put your hand around 4 inches in front of it to set it off. People were complaining about some similar touch less trash cans a few days ago for being way too sensitive so thankfully these are not like that at all.
Community Reviews
This is a small 2.7 gallon touchless bathroom trash can set that fits best in bathrooms, guest baths, dorm rooms, or bedrooms. The compact size is useful for tight spaces, and the sensor can work well when you stand close, with some reports of about a year of battery life. The main drawback is reliability, since multiple cans arrived defective or started opening and closing on their own, and the lids can feel slow or cheap. It seems like a space saving option if the small size and sensor quirks are acceptable.
The touchless lid can trigger with a hand held about four inches away from the sensor.
The cans can fit bathroom use well for smaller spaces like guest bathrooms.
The battery life can last around a year with close sensor operation.
The touchless design can help keep kids from putting trash on the floor by reducing direct contact.
The touchless sensor can malfunction and open or close nonstop, including during the night.
The cans can be very small in person, which may not match expectations for some shoppers.
The lid and build quality can feel cheap, with slow opening or trouble opening the lid.
The touchless sensor can be overly sensitive and trigger when someone is about a foot away.
