Have the same thing from a different chinese rebadge - they're great for what they are. If your car is lacking any of said features, this is the cheapest and easiest way to get it, and more.
Finding right spot to mount is probably the hardest thing of the whole thing.

It does use the speakers from your cars system, but it doesn't use the cars microphone.
Which one do you have that connects the mic as well ?

edit;
actually it uses the aux cable to your cars aux in for the audio out. I don't think it can do the bluetooth since that's used for connecting to your phone which then switches to wifi for android auto and apple carplay.

edit2:
Well... Looks like I had mine misconfigured. It was set to put audio out to the aux cable but there's an option to use bluetooth. I swithced it over and sure enough it works as it should.
The only sucky thing is that my truck defaults back to aux line in when I start. I have to switch it over to use bluetooth. stupid thing but ill live with it.
Did you unplug the aux line? It's probably only defaulting to aux if it detects something plugged in.

But the car's microphone is used if you pair with bluetooth. Seems this should be possible.Heck I'd even take an external mic that ill route to the ceiling from the screen. And yeah, the whole purpose of this thing is to use A auto or apple cpl. Which works amazingly well.
I have a different brand but I usually unplug my screen to default to car's Bluetooth when making or receiving calls

Should I spend 600-700 for a new radio head unit. 2016 Impreza or get one of these units?

Way nice for the little money. I looked into replacing my trucks head unit with a build in Android auto/gc unit and the cost was close to 1K. This is a steal. Sure it doesn't look as nice and is missing some features but my main goal was android auto and it does that perfectly for me. rear view cam is a bonus (truck didn't have one stock) although I still have to run the wire.

Android 16 was released mid 2025 and the firmware on my Volam is 2024. It suffered frequent disconnects and I had lost hope on it ever being fixed because there are no firmware updates available for these units. However I found some info on this page [amazon.com] which fortunately also worked for my unit..
yeah, that unit looks like a rebrand for the one I use.

Actually found a setting that will force it to use bluetooth. HAven't tested it yet but I think it should do the trick.

Mine has a setting that forces it to use bluetooth. Should do the trick, but still need to test it out.

Downside is not a clean look. Upside is MUCH cheaper option AND you get almost everything you need. Easy choice for me.

Is it possible to use this seperately from the in-car radio/carplay. Example, use Carplay with my work iPhone on this for navigation and have my in-car on my personal Andriod Auto for calls?
