This 15.3 inch MacBook Air deal stands out for pairing the M5 chip with 24GB of memory and a 512GB SSD at a price that compares well with recent Apple Education and Costco pricing. The larger screen and lighter Air design make it appealing for everyday use, while the extra RAM is the main upgrade that tips it ahead of 16GB alternatives. The base Pro still offers better sustained performance, a 120Hz mini LED display, more ports, and better speakers. B and H tax credits may soften the cost, but they are not the same as truly free tax.

  • The 24GB RAM configuration is highlighted as a key upgrade versus a Costco 16GB option, making the higher-spec model more appealing.

    SharpBook109zaidyboy

  • The 15.3-inch Air form factor is viewed as a good compromise for a larger screen and lighter weight, even compared with smaller Pro models.

    JK1982unhuman

  • The deal pricing is positioned as roughly $200 higher than a Costco 13-inch M4, making the 15-inch M5 configuration feel comparatively reasonable.

    SmartHaddock3847

  • The purchase is described as beating Apple EDU pricing by about $219, with an additional reported discount bringing the total to around 21% off.

    kayano1418

  • The Pro alternative can offer better sustained-load performance and a 120Hz mini-LED display, so the Air may feel less compelling for users prioritizing thermals and refresh rate.

    JK1982slimdunkin117

  • B&H's "free tax" is described as a tax credit for a future purchase rather than truly free tax, which can reduce value if credits get parked.

    tivoboy

  • The 24GB RAM configuration may be unnecessary for some buyers who previously purchased an Apple EDU 16GB/512GB model at a similar price.

    ranrise

  • Some buyers may regret choosing the Air deal if they already bought an EDU version at a higher price and then decide to return for this B&H offer.

can't you google for the differences?
The pro has a miniled display with 120hz. Some like it, some don't care. It has more ports and better speakers. It also has a fan for active cooling (some like this and some don't).
The screen on the pro is smaller tho

The base pro has the same cpu gpu but can handle sustained loads better due to better thermals. The pro also has 120hz and better display. That being said i like the bigger screen on the 15 and lighter weight. Now if it was the m5 pro chip the performance is much superior.

I got the 13" screen at MC a few weeks ago and IIRC it was like 1225. Of course, that's a better form-factor for the target audience, but this is a great deal!

Is there a model (24GB RAM, 512GB SSD) same in Amazon? I don't know why people are waiting for price match.

"Free tax" from BH is nice, but it's not really free tax, it's a tax CREDIT with BH for a future purchase, that then just has "free tax", and so on and so on.. sure if one really buys often from BH it's a rolling credit for the taxes paid, but parked credits always seem to be less valuable to me at least.

The 15.3" 24gb/1TB has been ~ $1499 lately, maybe even $1449..
